Vonda Vaughn Schmidt

Vonda Vaughn Schmidt concentrates her practice exclusively in family law and has done so for more than twenty-five years. She represents clients in a wide range of family law matters, bringing extensive experience, sound judgment, and a practical approach to resolving complex and emotionally charged issues. Vonda is a graduate of the University of Illinois and received her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School.

Vonda has been recognized by the Leading Lawyers Network four times in the last ten years, a distinction based on peer evaluations of experience, reputation, and legal skill in the area of family law. She has also been honored as a Leading Woman Lawyer in the Chicago Area in 2025. She is a certified Parenting Coordinator and has completed the DePaul University College of Law Center for Dispute Resolution Certificate of Professional Achievement in Family and Divorce Mediation.

Vonda has been active in the McHenry County Bar Association for over a two decades, serving as President of the Bar Association, Vice President of the Family Law Section, and was the Social Chairperson for 5 years. She is also active in the community, serving on the board of Friendship House Daycare Facility and previously on the board of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of McHenry County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for abused and neglected children.
