Dakota K. Richmond

Dakota K. Richmond is an attorney with a background in employment law and civil litigation, bringing practical experience representing clients before administrative agencies and in state trial court. She has experience representing employers before the EEOC and state and local agencies, advising clients across jurisdictions on workplace issues including discipline, terminations, accommodations, and wage and hour matters, and drafting demand response letters while negotiating favorable pre-litigation settlements. Dakota has also drafted pleadings, discovery requests, and pre-trial memoranda, prepared witnesses for deposition, represented clients at court hearings and motion presentments, and helped prepare cases for trial.

Dakota earned her law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law, where she was a Harno Scholar in the top 10% of her class, served as Administrative Editor of the Elder Law Journal, and received the Rickert Award for Excellence in Legal Writing. While in law school, she gained hands-on advocacy experience as a Student Attorney in the Veterans Legal Clinic and competed on the College of Law Trial Team.
