Biography

David P. Kaminski concentrates his practice on corporate transactional matters. He combines significant business training and significant experience with a practical approach to the practice of law, resulting in pragmatic and cost-effective solutions to legal challenges. Prior to joining Daspin & Aument, Mr. Kaminski gained valuable experience serving clients and closing deals as an attorney in a large, national law firm as well as a general counsel of both a real estate firm and financial services company.

Mr. Kaminski counsels corporate, lending, and institutional clients on a variety of transactional matters, including commercial finance, secured lending, real estate finance, mezzanine finance, venture capital, private equity, preferred equity, subordinated debt, bond financing, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. He has successfully represented clients in transactions ranging from complex multi-billion dollar international transactions involving public company participants to smaller transactions involving middle-market and emerging-market businesses.

Mr. Kaminski is able to provide his clients with "value-added legal advice" as a result of his technical business training and hands-on business experience. Having an M.B.A. from a top-ranked program (with intense coursework in finance, business valuations and strategic development) and having prior experience at a privately held middle-market distribution company as well as involvement with a number of successful start-up ventures, allow him to relate well to his business-focused clients. He understands the business principles and motivations that drive business today.

Mr. Kaminski is a former member of the board of directors, as well as Program Committee Chairman, of The DePaul Institute for Business and Professional Ethics. He also served as the Secretary of the Pro Bono Committee of a national law firm and has contributed hundreds of hours of legal time performing volunteer legal work for nonprofit charitable organizations and disadvantaged persons.
